Hiding or expanding specific parts of a long document is the best way to improve readability. MS Word provides a 'Collapse and Expand' feature for each paragraph to help efficiently structure your document.
This is particularly useful during Translation Tasks (English/Japanese/Chinese, etc.) to hide translated sections and view them only when necessary.
Place the cursor
at the very beginning
of the paragraph.
Go to [Home] > [Styles]
on the top menu and
select 'Heading'.
Click the Triangle Icon
on the left to control
the visibility.
Clicking the button hides or reveals the paragraph. You can also control this via the [Expand/Collapse] option in the right-click context menu.
Follow this path to ensure all paragraphs are collapsed by default when you open the document:
In the 'General' section, check the box next to "Collapsed by default" to activate it.
(Tip: Selecting 'Heading 1' from the Styles menu next to the paragraph group arrow also works quickly.)
